The Dog Days Of Summer

Friday July 21, 2017

Boldin To Visit: Dan Graziano of ESPN is reporting that free agent WR Anquan Boldin will visit with the Bills on Monday. He would add veteran leadership and depth at a position that is certainly lacking of that. He would immediately get into the fray for the 2nd or 3rd spot on the depth chart. Mike Rodak of ESPN reports the team will be looking at other players as well on Monday as the team gets set for training camp. There is an open spot on the 90 man roster.

Camp A Week Away: We have taken some needed time off from the website as the players and coaches took time off as well. Everyone is now gearing up for the start of training camp just one week away. The right side of this homepage has the first week of camp schedule and a link to the rest of it. There are a lot of early morning practices and fewer workouts at St. Johns Fisher College than past years. We will follow training camp with daily notes from Pittsford. The equipment staff was busy moving everything in to the campus today.

Washington Arrested: Sean McDermott said he was real worried about players getting into trouble during the one month plus hiatus before training camp and his fears has been realized. Adolphus Washington was arrested improperly carrying a concealed firearm on Sunday outside a Ohio waterpark. He was later released. The team released a statement saying they are aware of the arrest but won't comment because it is a pending legal matter. Washington had some issues at Ohio State as he was suspended for the final game of his college career for soliciting a prostitute. This will be the first disciplinary issue for McDermott and Brandon Beane so it will be interesting to see how they deal with it.

No Suspension For Williams: The Bills got some good news in the dog days of June when no news is usually good news. The team find out today that Jonathan Williams will not be suspended for a DWI arrest last July. The charges against him were dismissed earlier this month leading the NFL to close their investigation into him.
