Sunday October 16, 2016

Bills Blitz: LeSean McCoy ran for three touchdowns, Mike Gillislee added a fourth as the Bills ran away from the 49ers in the second half of a 45-16 win. McCoy finished with 140 yards on the ground while Taylor completed 17 of 26 passes for 179 yards. Bills Blitz.

Injury Update: The Bills seemed to get through the game fine. They got a scare when LeSean McCoy went down with a knee injury but he was able to return in the second half. Charles Clay suffered an ankle injury in the win. Robert Woods hurt his foot and had a small boot on after the game but he was able to finish the game. Injury Page.

Gameday Weather: It looks like tomorrow will be the first bad weather game of the season. While the temperatures will be mild like a September game, the winds and rain will make it feel like a November battle. The high temperature will be around 70° but the wind will gust out of the Southwest at 18mph with rain possible throughout the day. It is expected to get steadier during the second half.

Dareus Doubtful: The Bills have not ruled anyone out of Sunday's game because of injury at this point. Marcell Dareus did not practice once again today and is listed as doubtful for the game. Cyrus Kouandjio returned to practice today for the first time since injuring his ankle a couple of weeks ago. He is listed as questionable but Rex Ryan didn't sound optimistic he will be ready to go. Several Return: As expected several players were back on the practice field today for the Bills including Zach Brown, Cordy Glenn, Aaron Williams, Marquise Goodwin, Charles Clay, Lorenzo Alexander, Mike Gillislee, and Brandon Spikes. Marcell Dareus and Cyrus Kouandjio remain sidelined. Most of the returnees were limited. Rex Ryan said he's not optimistic Dareus will play but he's not ready to rule him out yet. As is customary more players get Wednesday off to rest bumps and bruises and in three cases to rest illnesses. Williams and Goodwin left practice early yesterday but were among those back on the field today. Jerry Hughes was given the day off. Kouandjio seems to be getting closer as he came on the field with his helmet in hand but is not practicing. Injury Page.

Game Preview: The Bills head back home on a three game winning streak including back to back road wins. The circus is coming to town as Colin Kapernick will be at quarterback for the 49ers as the National media will converge on Western New York but not for any on the field reasons. The Niners are struggling but may get a lift from the QB change as the Bills need to avoid the letdown. Complete Preview.

Wednesday October 12, 2016

Williams, Gooodwin Added: The Bills added Aaron Williams and Marquise Goodwin to their lengthy injury report. Williams has a foot issue that may have come up during today's practice since he was mentioned by the coach beforehand. Goodwin is suffering from an illness. Both are listed as limited. Injury Page.

Several Sit: Several players were sitting out practice today it will be more alarming of some of the bigger names sit out the rest of the week. Zach Brown is suffering from a foot injury and did not practice today. Rex Ryan said he hopes he doesn't miss the game on Sunday. The coach doesn't know yet if Marcell Dareus will be ready to play on Sunday. He sat out practice today with his hamstring injury. Colton Schmidt will likely be limited all week with a quad injury but they hope he will punt on Sunday. Practice squad kicker Marshall Morgan will handle punting duties in practice. Corey White is limited with his shoulder injury and Corbin Bryant is limited with an ankle injury. Lorenzo Alexander didn't practice but it's a rest day. Brandon Spikes and Mike Gillislee sat because of an illness. Charles Clay got his normal Wednesday rest day for his knee injury and Cordy Glenn sat to rest his ankle. Cyrus Kouandjio remains sidelined with his ankle injury. Michael Ola got the first team reps at left tackle instead of Seantrel Henderson. Injury Page.

Robey Honored: For the second straight week a Bills defensive player has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week. The last time that has happend was 1991. Last week it was Zach Brown and this week Nickell Robey-Coleman gets the honors. He had two interceptions returning one for a touchdown that gave the Bills the lead back for good against Los Angeles. The award could have gone to Lorenzo Alexander who had three sacks on the day.

Watkins Return? Ian Rapoport reports that after seeing renowned foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson he advised just rest and rehab for Sammy Watkins. He feels no further surgery is required at this time. That means a late season return is possible. He can become the IR player designated to return after eight weeks meaning if he gets healthy he can come back in December for the stretch run.

Morgan Added: The Bills have filled out the open spot on their practice squad by adding K Marshall Morgan. He was signed by the Bills shortly after the draft and released over the summer. He is the third all time leading kicker in Georgia history.

Are The Bills A Good Team? The Bills have won three straight games, does that make them a good team? Tony Bogyo is not too sure yet as he examines that question in his latest column. We have been burned many times during this playoff drought so Tony, and most Bills fans I gather, are taking the show me approach as they enjoy a rare run of wins from this team. Complete Story.

Monday October 10, 2016

Henderson Activated: The Bills have announced that they have activated Seantrel Henderson. They had until 4pm today to do so as his roster exemption was expiring. To make room they have placed Colt Anderson on injured reserve. Anderson hurt his arm yesterday and battled a foot injury the first month of the season. Front Office Page.
