NEWS ARCHIVES - OCT 12TH - OCT 18TH, 2015 PREVIOUS WEEK

Bills Get Blown Out At Home Again

Bills Lose 34-21: Andrew Dalton threw three touchdown passes and Giovani Bernard ran for one as the Bengals remained undefeated by beating the Bills 34-21 at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The loss drops the Bills back to .500 at 3-3. EJ Manuel ran for a score and threw a touchdown pass to Sammy Watkins in the loss. LeSean McCoy ran for 90 yards on 17 carries and had a four yard touchdown run in the loss. There will be no Bills Blitz or grades this week.

Injury Update: Seantrel Henderson left the loss with concussion symptoms while Sammy Watkins suffered an ankle injury while catching a touchdown pass late in the first half. He was on crutches and walking with a cane after the game. Kyle Williams suffered a knee injury late in the game that may cost him 3-4 weeks as it is being reported as a PCL injury. Marquise Goodwin suffered a new ribs injury and didn't finish the game. Percy Harvin did not play and his hip injury has worsen. There is a report he won't go to London and neither will Karlos Williams who is still struggling from his concussion. Injury Page.

Gameday Weather: It will be more of a mid November type weather day at Ralph Wilson Stadium for today's game against the Bengals. There will actually be a few snow showers around in the morning before changing over to occassional rain showers with a gametime temperature of 41°. Showers should come to an end midway through the game. Winds will be out of the Northwest at 9mph.

Report Says Taylor To Sit: Bob Holtzman of ESPN reports that Tyrod Taylor will sit out tomorrow's game against Cincinnati. The report says he lobbied to play but he is not ready. If this is true then EJ Manuel will get his first start in over a year. His last start was week 4 last year. Injury Page.

McCoy Expected To Play: LeSean McCoy is listed as probable for Sunday's game against Cincinnati and is expected to play. He said he's not 100% yet but knows he is needed out there and there are plays to be made and he's looking forward to it. Sammy Watkins, Percy Harvin, and Tyrod Taylor are all listed as questionable. Rex Ryan said he's not ready to name a quarterback yet but Taylor is improving and wants to play. Harvin is a bit of a surprise he has normally been listed as probable with his ongoing hip issue that has bothered him since training camp. He practiced fully on Thursday but was limited on Friday. Ryan says he has no idea if Harvin suffered a setback or not. Injury Page.

Taylor, McCoy Practicing Again: Tyrod Taylor, LeSean McCoy, and Sammy Watkins were all out there practicing today in full uniform. According to twitter reports McCoy and Taylor seemed to be moving around pretty well. Rex Ryan said he's not ready to say Taylor will start just yet. He also said McCoy is progressing well and they will see how the rest of the week goes. Since the Bills aren't adding another running back it appears there is a decent chance that McCoy plays this week. Watkins already said he will play. Marcell Dareus was also on the field after leaving early yesterday with a hip issue. He has been limited. Bacarri Rambo was full go today after being limited yesterday. Karlos Williams and Marcus Easley were not practicing again today. Injury Page.

Bengals Preview: The undefeated Bengals come to Orchard Park to take on a very banged up Bills team. Cincinnati is flying high after a big comeback win over the defending NFC Champions. Andy Dalton is having the best start of his career in leading a potent offensive attack. The Bills will need a great effort from their vaunted defense to pull off the upset with all the injuries on offense. The biggest being the question mark surrounding Tyrod Taylor's availability because of a sprained MCL. Complete Preview.

Wednesday October 14, 2015

Aaron Williams Out: The Bills have placed Aaron Williams on the injured reserve/designated to return list. He aggravated his neck injury against Tennessee. He will be sidelined until November 25th when he can begin practicing. He can not return to action until the Philadelphia game week 14. The team added S Josh Bush to the roster who spent more than two years with Rex Ryan with the Jets. The former 6th round draft pick was with Denver the past year and a half and played in the first three games this season for them. In other injury news, Leodis McKelvin said he's feeling better and will accompany the team to London when they leave on Sunday night. He will begin practicing next week. He said the ankle never healed properly. He had the old plates removed after they were pushing against the bone. Tyrod Taylor addressed the media and when asked if he will play Sunday, he said "that's the plan". He did say it's up to the coaches and that he hasn't done any lateral movement as the brace prevents that. Sammy Watkins said he's planning on playing, even if he's hurt he needs to go because the offense is basic without him. Front Office Page.

Ryan Presser: Rex Ryan had a lot to say at his media day press conference with the local media. He said Tyrod Taylor will practice some and admitted he does have a sprained MCL. He said players have played with that injury in the past with a brace on. EJ Manuel will get the majority of the reps this week and they have all the confidence in the world in him that is why they were comfortable trading Matt Cassell. The coach says the team was beat up pretty bad in Tennessee and they will have some new names on the injury report when it's released later today. Specifically the coach is worried about the health of Aaron Williams who continues to be bothered by his neck injury. Karlos Williams is still in concussion protocol. LeSean McCoy will practice on a limited basis today for the first time in a few weeks but he likely will not be ready this week although there is a report that says he may play. Dan Carpenter will handle kickoffs for the first time this year and Colton Schmidt will kick a few in practice to back him up.

Ryan Won't Rule Out Taylor: Rex Ryan appeared on SiriusXM NFL Radio this morning and said he would definitely not rule out Tyrod Taylor for this week's game against Cincinnati. It could be a bit of showmanship to get the Bengals to prepare for both quarterbacks. It also could have something to do with the toughness of Taylor. Reports surfaced yesterday that he would miss some time with a sprained MCL. Injury Page.

Tuesday October 13, 2015

Report Says Taylor Out A While: Jason La Canfora reports that Tyrod Taylor has a sprained MCL suffered during the horse collar tackle against the Titans and could be sidelined several weeks. The NFL Newtwork also reports he is out this week and EJ Manuel will start. Vic Carucci reports that an NFL source says he's hurt pretty bad and the team was checking the passport status of possible QB signings for the game to London in two weeks. The team settled on signing Josh Johnson. Injury Page.

Bills Add QB: The Bills now have three quarterbacks on their depth chart. They have signed Josh Johnson who was released by the Colts on Monday. To make room they released Billy Cundiff ending the two kicker experiment for the time being at least. He was a 5th round draft pick of the Buccaneers in the 2008 draft. He has played in 29 regular season games with five career starts. He has thrown five TD passes and 10 interceptions in his career. The move may have something to do with the health concerns regarding starting QB Tyrod Taylor who Rex Ryan admitted has been banged up all season. He aggravated an ankle injury on Sunday. Front Office Page.

Win Not Satisfying: Our columnist Tony Bogyo is no closer to figuring out what this team is about after an ugly win in Tennessee. It wasn't a win to be excited about and sets up a huge measuring stick matchup with the undefeated Bengals this week. Complete Story.

Monday October 12, 2015

Taylor Hurting: Rex Ryan told the media that Tyrod Taylor has not been 100% all season and that he is banged up after yesterday's game specifically with the ankle injury. Cierre Wood has been placed on IR with a torn ACL. His roster spot was taken by the activation of IK Enemkpali. Other notes from the press conference, Ryan said after looking at the film they won just barely. He didn't seem pleased with the kicking of Billy Cundiff and he's very encouraged by the progress Sammy Watkins has made trying to return from his calf injury. He said Karlos Williams had a doctor's appointment today but is still in concussion protocol. Injury Page.
