Bills Pull Out Victory in Final Seconds

Bills Blitz: Kyle Orton hit Sammy Watkins for a two yard touchdown pass with :01 left to lift the Bills to a 17-16 win over the Vikings at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Orton hit Chris Hogan for a 28 yard catch to the two as the clock was running out. Earlier in the drive Orton found Scott Chandler on 4th and 20 to keep the drive alive. Orton also hit Watkins for a 26 yard touchdown to give the Bills a short lived 7-3 lead in the first half. Blair Walsh hit field goals from 40, 55, and 33 yards that gave the Vikings the edge most of the way until the Bills final drive. Bills Blitz.

Spiller, Jackson Leave With Injuries: The Bills lost their top two running backs to injuries in today's win over the Vikings C.J. Spiller suffered a broken collar bone after a long run in the first half. He was in the game because Fred Jackson suffered a severe groin injury earlier. Both players were ruled out quickly after being carted off. Spiller's season is over and Jackson underwent an MRI that revealed he will be sidelined at least two weeks. Injury Page.

Fall Weather Is Here: The first game with an Autumn feel will take place today at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Skies will be mostly cloudy at kickoff with a gametime temperature of 44°. It will be windy which will make it feel cooler. The winds will be out of the West Northwest at 16mph. Bills Daily is at the game so there will not be any gameday grades this week. Look for our usual Bills Blitz article later tonight!

Goodwin Ruled Out: The Bills have ruled out three players for Sunday's game with the Vikings. Marquise Goodwin is one of the players that won't go on Sunday. He did not practice today after leaving practice on Thursday with a hamstring injury. Ty Powell and Marcus Easley were also ruled out. Powell injured his ankle during last week's game against New England. Easley has been sidelined for nearly a month with a knee injury suffered in the Chargers game and will likely return after the bye. Aaron Williams, Kyle Williams, Brandon Spikes, Da'Norris Searcy, and Garrison Sanborn are all listed as probable after being limited in practice this week. Injury Page.

Bills Add To Practice Squad: The Bills filled the open spot on their practice squad by signing WR Travis Harvey. He was an undrafted free agent in 2013 and spent that offseason with the Titans. He was signed by the Giants this past offseason before being released. Front Office Page.

Goodwin Injures Hamstring: Marquise Goodwin injured his hamstring in practice today and was officially limited. Garrison Sanborn was a full participant on Thursday after being limited Wednesday with a knee injury. Marcell Dareus returned to practice after being excused on Wednesday for personal reasons. Aaron Williams, Da'Norris Searcy, Brandon Spikes, and Kyle Williams were all limited again with their lingering injuries. Marcus Easley and Ty Powell remain sidelined. There is a report that says Easley will return after the bye. Injury Page.

Kouandjio At Guard: Cyrus Kouandjio is finally getting work at guard as Doug Marrone now feels he may work out there. He practiced for the first time ever at the position today. Mike Williams was back taking first team reps at wide receiver and with the hamstring injury to Marquise Goodwin there seems little doubt he will be active this week.

Vikings Preview: The Bills look to bounce back from last week's defeat as they welcome the Minnesota Vikings to town. The NFC North squad is reeling as well coming to Orchard Park on a two game losing streak. Game Preview.

Sanborn Limited: A surprise limited participant in practice today was Garrison Sanborn who has a knee injury. The team brought in two long snappers for tryouts as a precaution in case Sanbron isn't able to play this week. Aaron Williams was back on the field on a limited basis with wrist and neck injuries. He had a big wrap on his wrist and Doug Marrone said the wrist injury is a bigger deal than the neck injury. Marcell Dareus wasn't at practice as he was excused for personal reasons and is expected back on the field tomorrow. Da'Norris Searcy, Brandon Spikes, and Kyle Williams were also limited with their lingering injuries. Marcus Easley remains sidelined and Ty Powell did not practice with the ankle injury suffered in the loss to New England. Injury Page.

Williams Doesn't Want Trade: Mike Williams was on the field with the team today but he was on the scout team as the trade request from his agent may have put him in Doug Marrone's dog house. Marrone admitted to the media he was annoyed by the agent's request for a trade. Williams spoke to the media and said he doesn't want to be traded and had to tell his agent that. He admitted he was upset that he was inactive but only because he found out so late in the week.

Roller Coaster Of Emotions: It was definitely an exicting atmosphere at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday as the euphoria of the Pegulas taking over as owners turned to despair after another loss to the dreaded Patriots. Tony Bogyo was at the game and takes you through the emotions of the day. Complete Story.

Mike Williams Requests Trade: The agent for Mike Williams has requested a trade for his client Doug Whaley confirmed to the media today. He said he is not actively shopping anyone on the roster but his job is to listen if a trade offer comes. Williams obviously is upset after being inactive for the game yesterday. It will be difficult to trade him. Whaley said Williams believes he's a number one receiver and if they get an offer for a number one they would consider it but stressed they are not trying to trade him they came to the Bills and asked.
