Bills Get Some Rest Over Bye Week

B>Jon Bon Jovi To Buy Bills? Interesting article today by Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports regarding the future of the Bills. The article mentions that Jon Bon Jovi wants to buy the team. His desire to own an NFL team is well documented but it is unknown, even with his considerable wealth, if he has the money to buy the team. The article also says league sources figure Rogers Coummunications will buy the team upon Ralph Wilson's passing. If that happens expect more games to go to Toronto especially if a new stadium is built. If this happens the hand writing to full move to Toronto may be on the wall. The article also suggests the team may be put into a trust for a period of time leaving it right where it is for up to five years after he is gone. La Canfora also mentions a connection between Bon Jovi and Tim Leiweke who owns the Toronto Maple Leafs. La Canfora speculates they could team up and buy the team. Do all signs point to Toronto as a final destination for the Bills?

Reed A SemiFinalist: As expected Andre Reed once again made it to the semifinalist list for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2014. He is one of 25 people on the list that was dwindled down from 126. It is the 7th year in a row he has made it this far. Also on the list are first time nominees WR Marvin Harrison, LB Derrick Brooks, and OT Walter Jones. The list will be reduced to 15 modern-era finalists and two senior committee finalists by mail ballot in early January before the class is announced the day before the Super Bowl. Steve Tasker did not make the cut.

Bills Fill Open Roster Spot: The Bills wasted little time filling the open roster spot vacated by the releasing of Justin Rogers. The team has signed OT J.J. Unga off of the Ravens practice squad. He was an undrafted free agent from Division II Midwestern State signed by Baltimore after the draft. He was one of the final cuts and then quickly added to their practice squad. Front Office Page.

Bye Week Rest: Doug Marrone said he is handling the bye week differently than he would have if they had it earlier in the year. The Bills are off on the final bye week of the season so Marrone is dealing with it with more rest than work. The team had meeting and conditining work this week but no on the field practices. After today they will be completely off through Sunday.

Rogers Released: The handwriting was on the wall as Justin Rogers has been inactive for several weeks. He was released today after almost three years with the team since being drafted in the 7th round of the 2011 draft. He saw a lot of playing time early in the year because of injuries and struggled mightily. The team did not fill his roster spot but did swap corners on the practice squad as they let go Johnny Adams and added Mario Butler. He was most recently with the Broncos this past summer but didn't make the final cut. Front Office Page.

Johnson Says He'll Be Ready: Stevie Johnson echoed Doug Marrone's comments from yesterday and said he will be back on the field following the bye week. He is very optimistic he will feel good enough to play and will stay in Buffalo over the bye to rehab the groin injury along with other ailments he has been hampered with this year. Injury Page.

Nice Win: Tony Bogyo breaks down a great win for the Bills but tempers his enthusiasm as he warns fans to not talk about the playoffs because this team just isn't ready for that yet. Complete Story.

Jackson Fine: The Bills are fairly healthy already but will use the bye week to heal up other injuries. Fred Jackson aggravated his MCL sprain against the Jets but returned to the game. Doug Marrone said he's fine and will be ready for the Falcons after the bye. The coach also thinks he may have Stevie Johnson and Robert Woods back for that game as well. Injury Page.

Added Motivation? A lot is being said about the Jets team trip to Dave and Busters on Saturday night instead of a team meeting. The players were made aware of it before the game but Doug Marrone did not mention it to the players. He let them interpet it anyway they wanted to but it was obvious by some comments the players were ticked off and took it as a lack of respect. It appeared the Jets felt they could beat the Bills while taking Saturday night off.
