OTAs Continue With Week 2

Jauron On Week 2: Dick Jauron talked to the media after yesterday's workout. It was the final workout of week 2 of organized team activities. Week 3 will be from Tuesday to Friday next week. The team ends the OTAs with a mandatory three day minicamp June 11-13. Jauron said the OTAs have gone very well and the young guys have advanced quickly and are ready to compete. He said they have had great participation and great weather that has contributed to two solid weeks with two to go. He likes what he sees on both sides of the ball and loves the team attitude. The team appears to like each other and they like to work and they need to just make themselves a good football team because the desire is there. On J.P. Losman, Jauron said that his QB is a lot more confident and comfortable under center. He said he is a little rusty thanks to more time off this offseason that was needed for him. They almost forced him to rest early in the offseason. He is clearly a lot further advanced then last offseason according to the coaching staff.

Royal Out For OTAs: Robert Royal will miss the rest of the OTAs with a sprained shoulder. As we reported yesterday, he injured his shoulder after making a downfield catch down the seam and got tangled up with a defensive back. His arm was in a sling during today's OTA session but the injury will not require surgery. Injury Page

Royal Banged Up: The Bills had one player banged up during today's organized team activities workout. Robert Royal caught a pass in the seam and two defenders couldn't stop before making contact with him. He left the field under his own power with what appears to be a left shoulder injury. There should be an update on his condition tomorrow. Injury Page

Set Your DVRs: If you have the NFL Network set your DVRs tonight for 8pm as they will be playing the Bills/Oilers comeback game in its entirety as part of their NFL Classics series. This series is the first time the league has rebroadcast entire games with the network feeds. In Western New York fans didn't get to see the game on TV since it was blacked out, now is a chance to get the game archived if you don't already have it. Even if you do, this is a chance to get a higher quality copy then you may have already.

Five Sit Out Today: Five players sat out of today's workouts in the voluntary offseason conditioning program because of various bumps and bruises. Roscoe Parrish, Josh Reed, Thaddaeus Washington, Donte Whitner, and Langston Walker all sat out at least a portion of the workout. Parrish has a tight quad while Whitner has a tight hamstring. Walker left early after banging a knee cap.

Tasker Honor Coming In Opener: It has been known for a month now that Steve Tasker will go on the Wall of Fame we now know when. Tasker will be honored during a halftime ceremony during the opener against Denver. Tasker picked the game himself since it works out with his CBS television analyst schedule. He will be the 24th member on the wall.

Levy Optimistic On Walker Front: Marv Levy told the media yesterday that he's optimistic something will get done that will place Darwin Walker in a Bills uniform. Levy confirmed that the Bills will get a 6th round pick in August if they don't come to a deal but they hope that alternative plan won't happen. Discussions with his agent are continuing.

Peters Missing: There was buzz around the Bills OTAs yesterday when Aaron Schobel arrived in camp. He's excited to be back and is excited that the team gave Chris Kelsay a new deal. On the other side of the coin, Jason Peters was absent yesterday. WR Johnny Quinn and CB Reggie Lewis were back on the field after missing action last week with injuries. K/P Chris Jackson also was back after finishing up his college baseball season last week. WR Scott Mayle remains out as he is finishing his final exam schedule. As expected Darwin Walker is also staying away because of his contract dispute. Injury Page

Schobel Arrives: The Bills were back on the field this afternoon kicking off week two of the three week voluntary organized team activities. Aaron Schobel was back on the field as well after missing last week's workouts. He was one of two veterans not on the field in week one prompting speculation that he was unhappy with his contract since Chris Kelsay signed for more money in the offseason then the Pro Bowler is making.

OTA's To Resume: The Bills are getting ready to set up their 2nd week of organized team activities after the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The team will continue to install the offensive and defensive schemes as they had close to 100% attendance in the first week of the OTAs.
