Week 12: Bills vs. Jets
vs.
Monday, Nov. 24th
7:00pm ET
The game is taking a back seat this week to the monster snowstorm in Western New York. Preparation has been more about when and where the game will be played and not the game itself. The Bills have not been able to practice this week putting them at a competitive disadvantage on top of the effect the storm has had on the lives of the players and coaches. The team is hoping to travel to Detroit and practice some there over the weekend.

INJURY UPDATE

The Bills will get Fred Jackson back after missing the two of the past three games with a groin injury including the first meeting with the Jets. Sammy Watkins continues to play through a groin injury while Ron Brooks looks to come back from his groin injury after missing two games. Leodis McKelvin has been placed on injured reserve after fracturing his ankle against the Dolphins. Jairus Wynn remains out with a knee injury.

The Jets are pretty healthy heading into this matchup as they had their bye last week allowing them to rest up. S Jaiquawn Jarrett and CB Darrin Walls have been limited some in practice this week with calf injuries.

Check out our Bills Daily Injury Page throughout the week for the latest updates on the injured players.

KEY MATCHUPS

RB Fred Jackson vs. LB Demario Davis:
Jackson will be back and the team desperately needs a good game from the heart and soul of the football team. He will be highly motivated and it will be Davis's job to stop him as he leads the Jets in tackles.

WR Sammy Watkins vs. CB Darrin Walls:
The secondary is a weak spot in the Jets defense so Watkins needs to round back into form this week against the 4th year product Walls. Watkins had a big game in the first meeting and needs to duplicate that effort.

DE Mario Williams vs. RT Breno Giacomini:
Super Mario is coming off his second biggest game as a Bill and goes up against a solid seven year veteran in Giacomini.

CB Stephon Gilmore vs. WR Eric Decker:
Gilmore will likely follow Decker all over the field since he leads the Jets in catches, yards, and receiving touchdowns.

KEYS TO THE GAME

1. Focus On The Game: Normally this is a foregone conclusion but with the unusual circumstances surrounding the lead up to this game it will be hard to focus on football for the players and the coaches. They are creatures of habit and the normal weekly routine has been uprooted which will make it difficult to be ready to play.

2. Win Turnover Battle: The Bills have dominated the turnover battle on the road but are a -2 at home this year. This is technically a home game so that needs to change this week to get the win.

3. Dig Deep Late: The team may be able to overcome the rough week early in the game but it will be much tougher to finish the game as they will likely not be in normal game condition which could cost them in the fourth quarter of a close game.

BILLS DAILY PREDICTION

This game is almost impossible to predict given the dire situation in Western New York. The Bills will likely rally around each other as the entire region fights the storm but without practice and regular meetings it may be asking too much to get a victory. The game getting delayed by a day will help but it will still be an uphill climb. The extra day gives the Jets another day to prepare and Michael Vick is always more dangerous indoors than he would be at the cold, windy Ralph.
