Defensive Prospects Visit One Bills Drive

Draft Luncheon: The Bills held their annual draft luncheon for the media yesterday. It is a day of misinformation as Tom Modrak and Buddy Nix took questions for 43 minutes but would not really answer anything honestly as they don't want to give away what they are going to do. There were a few highlights however. They seem secure and ready to make a pick at number three and it would be a shock if they traded down. It seems reading between the lines they may focus on defense in the first round and quarterback in the second. Nix said who they pick second will be determined by who they pick first. They feel they need a run stopper more than a pass rusher and they need someone that will make an immediate impact with the third pick. Nix admitted to being thin on defense. They will look to take the best available player but hope to fill their needs with that pick. Nix also said they'd like to add an offensive tackle either through the draft or free agency when that starts. The lack of free agency so far has not changed how they are preparing for the draft.

Preseason Schedule Out: The Bills have announced their preseason schedule and they will play their first two games on the road and the last two at Ralph Wilson Stadium. That is assuming their is a preseason at all of course. The team heads to Chicago to take on the Bears the week of August 11th - 15th. They then travel to Denver the week of August 18th - 22nd. They come home to take on Jacksonville week three of the preseason than close the preseason at home against their traditional opponent, the Detroit Lions. Dates and times to be announced at a later date.
