NEWS ARCHIVES - JULY 14TH - JULY 20TH, 2008 PREVIOUS WEEK

Ticket Sales Rises As Camp Nears

Camp To Open With Two-A-Day: The Bills will hit training camp running with back to back two-a-days on the first two days of camp on Friday and Saturday. Both sessions will last about 1:50 each. Those are the only two-a-days on the schedule as the individual day practices will run 2:05. Most days, when there is just an afternoon or evening session, there will also be a 45 minute walk-thru that is not open to the public. Our homepage has a mini-training camp schedule on the right side showing what's coming up in the first week of camp.

Training Camp Closing In: It's hard to believe that the summer is flying by so fast and that means one thing to football fans...training camp is almost here! As we have done for the past 10 years Bills Daily will follow the events at St. Johns Fisher college and bring you our usual synopsis of the daily events. Before the players can report on Thursday and hit the field for the first time on Friday the Bills must first come to terms with half of the draft picks. Five picks remain unsigned including their top three picks and the fifth and sixth round selections. Expect Alvin Bowen and Xavier Omon to sign pretty quickly. Then it should go in reverse order with third round pick Chris Ellis signing mid-week. James Hardy and Leodis McKelvin will likely go down to the wire if it is anything like past years.

Season Ticket Sales Rise Again: The Bills announced today that season ticket sales have risen over 54,200 tickets. They also announced that what is left of individual game tickets will go on sale for Bills Backers members on August 21st at 8am at the team's website. If any individual tickets remain at noon they will be made available to the general public. The updated season ticket total is the third largest in team history. They are around 400 shy of the 2nd highest total in 1991. The highest total was in 1992 at 57,132 season ticket sales.

Everett To Get Award: While the ESPY awards won't be broadcasted by ESPN until Sunday, the actual ceremony takes place tonight. Kevin Everett will be on hand to get the prestigious Jimmy V Award for Perseverance. Everett will get it for his miraculous recovery from the paralyzing injury he suffered in the opening day loss last season.

Night Practice Tickets Available: The Bills announced today that tickets to the third and fourth night practices of training camp will be made available this Friday at 9am. Tickets are free although web fees may apply. The first two night practices set for July 29th and 31st are gone and these tickets will be for the night practices on August 5th and 7th. Tickets are available from the team's website, ticketmaster outlets, and ticketmaster website.

Favre Option: With the ongoing soap opera in Green Bay regarding the future of Brett Favre, the media is taking a look at possible locations for the veteran future hall of famer. If the Packers do decide to trade him, he will likely go to the AFC. Are the Bills an option? This isn't a type of move the Bills would normally make, and it won't be a move they make this time. They are firmly behind the development of Trent Edwards, Favre would hurt that development. Ralph Wilson also wouldn't want to shell out the $12 Million he would cost, so don't look for the Bills to be a player if Favre hits the trade market. Do you think the Bills should go after Favre? Take our poll on our homepage and let us know what you think!
