Titans Talking Contract? NFL.com is reporting that the Titans are talking with Travis Henry about a new contract if he is traded to Tennessee. The Titans still don't appear ready to match the Bills trade demands of a third round pick however.

Bills Future: Ralph Wilson told the Sports Business Journal that he can't guarantee the Bills will stay in Buffalo when his lifetime has passed. He did say the team will be in Buffalo as long as he's around. He re-iterated that his family does not want to own the team when he is gone. His estate cannot put stipulations on the sale of the team, which means Wilson or his estate cannot force a buyer to keep the team in Buffalo.

Should The Bills Sign Shelton? Now that he has been released by the Cardinals the Bills could get L.J. Shelton for nothing if they choose. They didn't like him enough to trade Travis Henry for him, but do they like him enough to go after him now that he is a free agent? A bridge or two may have been burned between the two sides since they didn't trade for him which may cause him to look elsewhere.

Henry Update: With Chris Brown injured once again for the Titans, speculation continues about a possible trade between the Bills and the Titans regarding Travis Henry. Tennessee acknowledges that talks continue but they say the Bills aren't really in a hurry to trade Henry since the front office likes him and feels he can help the team. The GM for the Titans said they would want to rework his contract if a deal was made. The Bills want a third round pick for Henry and Tennessee has yet to go that high. Meanwhile, reports that Jacksonville was interested in Henry has been denied by the GM of the Jaguars.

Lineman Visits: Free agent offensive lineman Greg Jerman was at One Bills Drive for a visit today. He had been with the Dolphins since 2002 and had one lone start at Right Guard in 2003. He said Buffalo is an attractive destination for him since they turned things around so quickly last year. He called them a team on the rise with a first class organization with a great football town.

Bills Release Brown: A day after officially signing ReShard Lee, the Bills released RB Dante Brown. He was signed late last year after Travis Henry was injured as insurance.

Tuesday May 17, 2005

Lee Signing Official: The Bills made the signing of RB ReShard Lee official yesterday. They did not reveal the terms of the deal but, as we reported on Friday, it is a two year deal. He will challenge for a backup running back spot and the second kickoff return spot.

Thompson Struggles In Europe Win: Bills allocated QB Kevin Thompson struggled but led the Centurions to a 20-17 come from behind Europe league win over the Frankfurt Galaxy. Thompson was 16 for 26 for 202 yards with no scores and he threw two interceptions. TE Mike Gomez caught one pass for seven yards for Amsterdam.

Jags A Possibility? Reports now speculate that Jacksonville could be a landing spot for Travis Henry. Fred Taylor is trying to overcome injuries and the team may be looking for a quality back as insurance.
