Bills Quiet In Europe: After a stirring opening weekend for Bills' players in Europe, week 2 was very quiet for them. Three Bills saw action and it was all in one game as the Rhein Fire rocked the Scottish Claymores 31-3. QB Greg Zolman saw limited action in the rout for Rhein. He carried the ball once for one yard and threw one pass and it fell incomplete. His teammate K Mike Shafer was held to just kickoff duties. For the Claymores FS Kahlil Carter was held to one tackle on defense and one on special teams.

Stewart In Town: WNSA is reporting that Kordell Stewart was back in town for a visit yesterday and today. He has since left town without a deal to join the Bills. There is speculation that he is the guy the Bills want as the backup quarterback but he may still be holding out hope he can compete for a starting job somewhere. He said in his previous visit to Buffalo that he will be very patient before deciding on his football future. The Bills appear to be his fallback plan.

Williams To Raiders: TE Roland Williams has decided to go back to Oakland to play for the Raiders. He wanted to return home and play for the Bills but Buffalo would not be prepared to offer him a deal until after the draft. Williams also had an offer from Tampa Bay but took the three year deal to go to Oakland. He said he's sorry the Bills didn't step up and sign him. Tom Donahoe may be looking to take a tight end on draft day, if he doesn't then he has a number of options in free agency to add a number two tight end. Brian Kozlowski was in for a visit two weeks ago and he is still on the market and is also a Rochester native who would love to play for the Bills.

Burns Signs Tender: KFFL is also reporting that Joe Burns has signed his one year tender offer of 380,000. An exclusive rights free agent his rights were exclusively owned by the Bills.

Stevenson Re-signs: KFFL is reporting that Dwight Stevenson has signed his one year tender offer of 380,000. As an exclusive rights free agent he was stuck in Buffalo when they tendered him the offer.

No Rush: Mike Mularkey was in Rochester yesterday and toured the training camp facilities and came away impressed. He told the Rochester D&C that the team isn't in a rush to sign anymore free agents but mentioned TE Roland Williams, and QBs Kordell Stewart and Doug Johnson as players that are in the mix to be added to the roster. The team may be waiting to see what they do on draft day as wide receiver, tight end, and quarterback are all need positions. Who they pick in the first round may impact who they do or don't sign in free agency.

Bills Mock Draft: As we have done the past five years, we have once again did our Bills' seven round mock draft. Our draft guru Bob Wensley broke down the draft and made his predictions on who the Bills will take in each round. He doesn't have the Bills drafting a QB but makes several alternative selections at the position in case his picks aren't around when the Bills pick. Mock Draft

Bills Show Interest In LB: The Atlanta Journal Consitution is reporting that the Bills have shown some interest in restricted free agent LB Matt Stewart. The report says his agent confirmed the club's interest. If the Bills were to sign Stewart to an offer sheet the Falcons would have a week to match or the team would get a fourth round pick from Buffalo.

Europe Update: A couple of Bills in NFL Europe shined on opening weekend. CB Kahlil Carter had six tackles and a pass defensed as he started for the Scottish Claymores. QB Greg Zolman was impressive coming off the bench for the Rhein Fire. He complete 7 of 9 passes for 122 yards a touchdown and an interception. His two yard touchdown pass helped Rhein to the come from behind win as his QB rating of 116.2 more than double that of starter Chad Hutchinson. Kicker/Punter Mike Shafer also had a 35 yard field goal for Rhein.

Williams, Bills To Talk: Free agent TE Roland Williams told the Rochester D&C that he will talk to the Bills again this week. The Rochester native visited the facilities last month and expressed a great desire to sign with his local team. Tampa Bay and Oakland are both interested in his services but he's waiting to see what the Bills will do. Tom Donahoe said the team wants to add another tight end but is in no rush to do so and may do so through free agency or the draft. Williams said he is also willing to be patient.
