Week 12: Bills vs. Jets
at
Sunday, Nov. 27th
1:00pm ET
The Bills have not won a game since getting dominated by the Jets three weeks ago in Buffalo. In fact, they haven't been in any games since they defeated Washington on Halloween weekend. The Jets are struggling as well as they have lost back to back games. That means this game is a must win for both teams to keep legitimate playoff hopes alive.

INJURY UPDATE

The Bills are decimiated with injuries and it just seems to be getting worse. Fred Jackson, Donald Jones and Terrence McGee suffered serious injuries in the loss to the Dolphins. Jones and McGee are out for the year. Jackson has been ruled out this week and is out indefinitely. Demeterius Bell likely is ready to return this week but will not start. Stevie Johnson, David Nelson, and Naaman Roosevelt are among the banged up players that should be able to go. George Wilson likely remains out with a neck injury. Rian Lindell is still sidelined with a shoulder injury.

The Jets are banged up at the running back position. Shonn Greene hurt his ribs in the loss to Denver and LaDanian Tomlinson was sidelined with a knee injury. WR Jeremy Kerley, S Brodney Pool, and G Matt Slauson are also battling knee injuries. All the injured players with the possible exception of Tomlinson are expected to play Sunday.

KEY MATCHUPS

CB Aaron Williams vs. WR Plaxico Burress:
The rookie Williams gets the start over Leodis McKelvin for the injured McGee. He is the only Bills corner with decent enough size to possibly stay with the 6'5" Burress.

LB/SS Bryan Scott vs. TE Dustin Keller:
The Bills have historically struggled against good tight ends and Keller is very good. He leads the Jets in catches and yards. Scott will likely lineup as a hybrid safety/linebacker and shadow Keller all over the field.

LT Chris Hairston vs. LB Calvin Pace:
Chan Gailey gave Hairston a big vote of confidence when he announced he will start despite Bell being close to healthy. He will line up opposite Pace who leads the team with four sacks.

WR Stevie Johnson vs. CB Darrelle Revis:
Johnson actually had some success on Revis Island three weeks ago. His three catches for 84 yards was the most against Revis in a couple of years. Johnson has been very banged up making a repeat performance that much more difficult.

KEYS TO THE GAME

1. Snap the ball properly: Let's take baby steps in getting the team back on track. If Urbik can snap the ball properly that puts them ahead of where they were last week.
2. Execute on third downs: The biggest reason for the losing streak is the offense can't stay on the field and the defense can't get off it. They need to convert third downs and stop the Jets on third down. It's as simple as that.
3. Get Spiller Going: With Jackson sidelined it is time for Spiller to show that he was worth a high draft pick. He needs to make plays starting this week.

BILLS DAILY PREDICTION

The Bills are in free fall and Jets coach Rex Ryan said the playoffs start with this game. The Bills do not match up well with the Jets and the injury situation is too much to overcome for a team that has depth, something Bills GM Buddy Nix admits his team doesn't have. They got blown out at home by them and their confidence is shaken. What makes you think they will fare better in the Meadowlands?
