Roscoe Parrish muffed a punt late in the fourth quarter that setup a game winning 18 yard field goal by Billy Cundiff to allow the Browns to escape with a 6-3 win over the Bills. Cundiff also hit a 24 yard field goal in the 2nd quarter. Rian Lindell accounted for the Bills points with a 36 yard field goal in the second quarter. Derek Anderson only completed two of 17 passes for 23 yards and still found a way to get a win. Trent Edwards completed 16 of 31 passes for 152 yards in the loss. Marshawn Lynch had 125 total yards. Check back in a little bit for our Bills Blitz complete with our gameballs, goats, views, turning point, and player of the game.
The Turning Point:
This is very obvious. Roscoe Parrish muffed a punt with under three minutes to go and it was recovered by ex-Bill Blake Costanzo at the Bills 16.
The Big Drive:
In a game with no offense there really wasn't any big drives. After the muff by Parrish the Browns did go 15 yards in 7 plays before kicking the winning field goal. They did convert a third and nine on the drive as a 10 yard run by Jamal Lewis was a dagger in the Bills heart.
Stat of the Game:
The Browns had just two pass completions for 23 yards and won the game!
What You Don't See On The Stat Sheet:
The Bills were called for 13 penalties. 9 of them were false starts on the offensive line. And the game was at home!
- D'Qwell Jackson wasn't suppose to play for the Browns because of an injury. He ended up leading the team with 13 tackles.
- After injuries to two middle linebackers. Orchard Park native Jon Corto saw some time at outside linebacker. Keith Ellison played in the middle.
- The Bills gave up less than 200 total yards in the loss.
It just can't get any worse. They cancelled the halftime ceremony to give Ralph Wilson his hall of fame ring. If the owner can't walk on to the field with his name on it we have hit rock bottom. Jauron has to go even though it really won't change anything.
The Bills head to the Meadowlands to play at Giants Stadium for the last time before the Jets and Giants move to a new stadium next year. The Jets are in first place so the going gets tougher for the Bills and must win this game in a hostile environment if they have any hope at climbing back into the division race.
